The Work Of YOUR Hands

If you are a Christian you have jobs to do for the Lord.

Before I retired I had supervisors and managers who planned the work I would do each day. They would give me my schedule and the tasks that I was to perform. They would provide what I needed to get the job done. They saw to it that I was rewarded for my work. Generally, the harder and longer I worked the greater the rewards. Early in my life I worked for my father in his business. He was undoubtedly the wisest, the kindest and the most generous supervisor I ever had. Until I got saved. Since then I have learned that God is the best Master in every way. The oftener we can find out what He wants us to do and do it, the greater the rewards. An old proverb about Christians is that the rewards are out of this world. But some of the rewards are here and now. It was a pleasure to work for my earthly father and it is a far greater pleasure to serve my Heavenly father.

Ephesians 2:10: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Psalms 90:17: And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.

Philippians 4:19: But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Matthew 11:28-30: Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

It is very strange that there are so many Christians who refuse to serve the Lord. Are you one of those? They have more excuses than Carter had little pills. Early on when Christians refuse to serve the Lord they simply squander the rewards. But I am familiar with many that have refused to serve the Lord so stubbornly and for such a long time they are now enduring His chastisement. They already have the greatest gift, their salvation, but they refuse to earn the extra rewards. They refuse to earn and receive the rewards that come to believers here and now.

The first thing to do is ask the Lord to establish the work of your hands. You will be amazed at what He can accomplish through you.

Philippians 2:12-15: Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. 14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings: 15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
